Counselling gives you a safe place to talk and is an opportunity to have a positive non-judgemental relationship.

You and your counsellor will discuss and form an agreement on what alcohol issues you would look at in your counselling.

About us:

Ravenscourt is a first stage treatment centre for addiction administered by Ravenscourt Trust, an independent charity established in 1990. The Centre is registered with the National Care Standards Commission under the provisions of the Care Standards Act 2000.

Ravenscourt provides an abstinence-based programme of recovery within the setting of a therapeutic community for men and women, aged 18 and over. We aim to give our clients a safe environment in which personal recovery from addiction can take place.

We have seventeen beds for clients with four double and nine single rooms. Clients will share with a ‘buddy’ on admission but move to a single room later in their stay. The treatment programme lasts for twelve weeks and clients completing the programme are matched with ongoing care in the most appropriate setting.

Ravenscourt is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The staff team comprises counselling, administrative and care staff.
The fully timetabled programme includes: group therapy sessions, one-to-one sessions, lectures and videos, social and leisure activities.

Facilities include lounge, pool room, group and one-to-one rooms, dining room and conservatory. Ravenscourt is located 500 yards from the seafront in a quiet part of Bognor Regis.

Once I’m in what can I expect?

ANA offers a twelve week abstinence based primary treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction.

In addition we offer individually tailored detoxification programmes. Our aim is to help our clients rebuild their lives, to gain in confidence and self-worth and to really believe that they can live a healthy, responsible and productive life, free of addictive substances.

Our Programme is modular, flexible and features increasing levels of choice and opportunities for personal development as clients progress through. We recognise that every client has different needs and will move individually through treatment and into recovery.

ANA facilitates recovery through support and respect, working in collaboration with our clients. Care planning, group work and one to one key worker sessions all feature, together with a life skills programme, women & men’ groups, alternative therapies and optional secondary programme. Our programme combines a number of philosophies including the Twelve Step approach and is non-denominational in nature.

arc treatment is a highly structured holistic treatment covering proven recovery techniques.

Twelve-step recovery is the most proven recovery technique from alcoholism and addiction, with the highest success rate of any solution.

As a result of this, we feel that we would not be best serving our clients by not exploring valuable twelve-step recovery techniques. We do however, make sure that the ‘shaming and critical’ element is rigorously avoided. We also are aware that addiction is an extremely complex and personal condition, which for many requires other recovery techniques to be employed.

Treatment is delivered using tried and tested techniques alongside new and pioneering methods – e.g.

Group Work, Meetings, Video recording, Audio & video tapes, Multi-media Presentations, One to one counselling, Question & Answer sessions, Written work, Workshop Activities, Meditation, Affirmation, Inventories

The ultimate aim is to treat the whole person while at the same time distinguishing the condition of addiction as separate to all other issues, thereby allowing people to live clean and sober despite internal issues and external problems.

The treatment is highly structured and arc’s policy is to attain the highest standards of professionalism and care. In order for us to reach our clients we embrace humour. We regard the development of a very strong sense of humour as an extremely important recovery tool. We do not support an attitude of authority, we encourage an attitude of freedom, passion and fun.
