About us:

Nascent House focuses on the whole person and alcohol work is undertaken on a physical, mental and emotional level with a 26-week residential programme that aims to help recovery from drug and alcohol problems. Therapeutic group work and keywork sessions are provided. Voluntary work and college courses are available.

The alcohol project is staffed 24 hours, seven days a week.

Nascent House only accepts people with mental health issues that are drug and alcohol related and if these issues are manageable within the treatment environment.

Nascent House will exclude clients who have:

*physical and sensory problems
*a history of violence, sexual offences or arson
*mental health issues that are unrelated to drug and/or alcohol use.

Referrals are taken by telephone from referrals from 9.30 to 4.30 from Monday to Friday. An interview is arranged. Nascent House may ask permission to see relevant reports. Proof that funding is in place is required. Clients must be fully detoxed prior to admission and taking no mood or mind-altering drugs. Nascent House does not do prison or telephone interviews. Clients come to the project to be interviewed and have an opportunity to meet residents.
Nascent House will discharge clients who:

*are verbally or physically abusive
*use drugs or alcohol.
