Alcohol residential rehabilitation service based in Chalk Farm near London’s Camden Town.

About us:

Fully accessible for those with mobility difficulties, Herbert Street is open to abstinent clients from all boroughs.

Herbert Street is an abstinence-based structured alcohol rehabilitation programme, which accommodates up to nine men and women, established over 10 years ago.

Our primary aim is to provide a safe, supportive, drug and alcohol-free environment for the individual to tackle the underlying issues related to their drinking. We aim to enable people to move back into the community with an increased quality of life.

As a registered care home it has received excellent inspection reports from CSCI.

The service provides 24 hour staffing, including management on call.

The service is based in Camden, but referrals are taken from all London boroughs and the south east of England.

* A comprehensive 6 month programme
* Incorporating therapeutic group work; skills based
* Innovative and creative therapies to support core skills
* Educational workshops, lectures and interactive groups
* Individual key working
* A safe and supportive alcohol - free environment
* 24 hour on site cover 7 days per week.
* Provision for formal and informal support
* Accommodation, which is fully wheel chair accessible for anyone with mobility difficulties.
* On site support with dual diagnosis or secondary illnesses including access to specialists
* Ongoing Aftercare Support Group to consolidate clients recovery when returning to community
* Currently researching and developing Family Support Sessions to be introduced soon.

* The house was designed with a fully accessible disabled annex (although the service does not provide personal care).

Referral Procedure

* Local Authority funding is required. hungerford-footbridgeApplicants will need to be assessed by their local borough.
* Referral is via telephone or letter
* Clients are expected to have a minimum of seven day detox prior to admission.
* Herbert Street will provide smooth prompt liaison with care management teams
* Clients receive care management reviews with their key worker and care manager, supported by a progress report and discharge report.
